The priority of hosts on our index page is determined by a number of on-site factors, with the main one being Page Relevancy — More weight is given to pages with a higher number of reviews, because these pages are more relevant to the end user. This doesn't mean that a poorly rated host with 50 reviews will outrank a host with 35 positive reviews.
Based on the number of reviews that a host has, our site automatically categorizes it into 1 of 4 relevancy levels. The position for which a host ranks is then dependent on the level it is in. Within each level, other on-site factors are taken into consideration to determine the host order and priority of that level.
Levels are mutually exclusive, and the only way for a host to move up a level is by an increase in the number of reviews on that host.
